I am going to give my daughter some money to buy music for her birthday and I want her to be able to just buy single songs if she wants . Also she is going to burn them onto a cd after they are downloaded if that makes a difference

I keep all my music in windows media player and I don’t want all my new stuff going into itunes. (my girls want an ipod, me and my husband have just a regular mp3 player and we all have our own music tastes). Thanks!

Shouldn’t unless it is setup that way, that anytime any music is downloaded that is goes directy to itunes and napster.

Also since you are all using the same computer, keep an eye on the free space on the hard drive, overtime music can take up lot of space.

Also make sure the visit the apple website, to learn how to backup the music, just in case the computer ever crashes or if you need to reinstall windows. Music that your daughters buy on itunes, is not saved to their account, every so often itunes will give a reminder to back up the music.

I don’t know how napster is with backng up music, so that is another thing you want to look into.

I only have an mp3 player, so I can’t use itunes. Then someone suggested Amazon. Will it be safe to use? I mean, it won’t let any thing bad on my computer or mp3 player, will it?
