also i heard the provider such as rhapsody takes the music back when i cancel the subscription..any truth to that?

Zune pass is good 15 bucks a month you can download n stream as many songs as you like to up to 3 computers n 3 zune hd but if you don’t got a Zune HD this isn’t for you. So you can’t burn the songs to a cd unless u buy them. But if u had a Zune Hd you can take your music where ever u like. All them songs you downloaded will work n you can stream songs wifi. Plus u keep 10 songs a month forever, so if u was to cancel the service them 10 songs will still be yours. But if you don’t all the songs will stay working. Rhapsody got a service but same thing, you can’t burn to a cd unless u buy them. N itunes songs range from .99 to up to 2.00 each, they have no subscription service.

believe me, i’ve asked that question so many times, and all with the same response - NO! the only way (right now) that I can think of is to get limewire (i know, illegal) and when installing, there is a window that appears that allows you to filter all illegal content ( stuff it can’t find a license for) and leave all "legal" content
otherwise, you will have to pay up or go musicless

I don’t want anything that would be illegal I just want to know if there is a site that you can find legal music downloads at.

have you tried itunes? go to apple. com and download the latest version for free- music downloads range from 99 cents to $1.29 use your credit card or get an itunes card (usually in the front of stores like walmart or best buy or in the electronics dept.) hope this helps!

Limewire, Frostwire, Beemp3, are all free. But all free music download sites it’s illegal to download the free songs, and they are not safe for your devices or computers, there are lot’s of virus’s on all of these.

There is NO Such thing as Free and Legal either!

I’m doing an essay entitled "Assess the impact of digital media technology on the music industry" for school, and was wondering if anyone could make any quick pointers regarding the positives or advantages of legal music downloading for the industry of consumer. Thanks.

1st it’s legal, that the best reason
2nd the legal downloads do sound better, the free stuff use small, noisy bandwidth,
CD’s sound the best of all.
3rd to Richard above me, while many in the industry are doing OK, there are many on the perimeter, that are losing money.
Not all artists are millionaire celebs. If you look at all the kids on Y/A asking for help stealing music, most are for smaller, newer groups, so the the "overpaid celeb" thing doesn’t work 90% of the time.
it’s just kids trying to "justify" the fact that they are thieves.

If The studios don’t make money, how are they supposed to send scouts out looking for good new talent?
look at all the posts in here "how do i get discovered?"
Where is the money to promote them supposed to come form?

And, There are a LOT of studio people that rely on music sales.
The writers,
The producers,
The Engineers,
The backup singers
The publishers
ALL the studio people, that ONLY get paid from the sale of music
they don’t get any of the "tour" money.
Stealing music is stealing from ALL of THEM too.

I can’t use iTunes, since I have a non-Ipod video Mp3 player. I was looking for a site where I can buy legal music video downloads. I’ve already looked at Rhapsody, but I don’t want to have to buy a monthly subscription, just pay per video. Anyone know any good sites?

You can still use iTunes and change the format. Like windows media player, for instance would be .wmp instead of the .mp3.

I like making videos for Youtube but I only have ITunes, which is protected so you can’t put it on Youtube. Does anyone know any safe sites for LEGAL music downloads? Sorry about the ‘LEGAL’s but it don’t want to accidentally break the law!!!

It is very easy to download videos, and it downloads fast too..

Then you can convert youtube videos into the music mp3 music (and other formats too) with zillatube. This is the fastest way.

Then use windows movie maker(inside your windows machine) to add them to video.

I don’t have the requirements for iTunes, so I was wondering if there was another site where I could download music onto my ipod. Preferably a website that isn’t known for viruses. I don’t care if it costs money for the songs, which it should anyway if it’s legal. I would appreciate any references to websites that are legal and trusted. Thank you!

Im pretty sure you can get them from aol.com yahoo.com and even amazon sells them. If you look up a song you like on youtube it will sometimes even give you a link to buy it from amazon when the song starts playing.
